comments on rape 'story'

In response to the few comment s(anonymous, which i don’t know is who and fun cheong=p) from the previous post, I would like to quote out some things that i've read in the book" Sex Slaves in Asia' by Louise Brown.

Legitimate sexuality, at least for women, is found only in marriage. The cult of virginity is so strong in Philipino Catholicsm.A girl who is raped or has pre-marital relationship that turns sour, will frequently be burdened with the shame of no longer being a virgin. For some of these girls it is a shame that leaves them no option other than to be a prostitute because they honestly believe that they are no longer worthy enough to become the wife of a decent man.

In highly traditional societies, the rape of a woman can lead to a destruction of self esteem.Women may therefore accept prostitution as their way of life because they cannot escape from the psychological prison created by their experience of rape and of it's associated shame.

Initially, the trauma of rape and the devastating consequences that flow from it can sometimes bind the girl to her rapist. In other words, he creates the prostitute and then he profitrs from her.

In the most sexually and gender repressive societies in Asia, rape is an initiation into prostitution. A raped girl is unable to marry because she is no longer a virgin. Such women resort to sex work because it is the only form and work available to them and because they cannot survive as a single woman.

Unmarried mothers and victims of rape from another small but significant category. They are significant because apart from being the victims of awful personal tragedies, their face reveals some unhappy truths about South Asian societies.

In msia, virgin girls who have not yet reached puberty carry a premium.12 to 15 is considered the best age.

Virginity and chastity are central to the dominant strands in Asia's value systems. The Korean proverb' Chastity for a woman is more precious than life' sums this up perfectly

NOTE: It’s not that easy for a rape victim to report to the police n stuff liddat. She'll have to relive the trauma, get checkups, lots of red tape involved.n.the worst part is, there's no evidence.yes, there'll be bruising n stuff but no DNA evidence.EVERYTHING is based on evidence and in some states, u'll need 4 just good men to be witnesses, which brings us to the question, if they are so just and good, why didn't they stop the rape from taking place then? Why should men be allowed to wildyly sow their seed before marriage n no one will bat an eyelid, yet women must be as untainted and 'pure' as possible in order not to be labelled as DAMAGED GOODS? Why are they goods in the first place?

TO would-be flamers: I am not trying to promote promiscuity here but it is IMHO that ppl shouldnt have some virgin fetish, esp. guys that have been sleeping around.Staying a virgin should be a matter of choice, not by force. If ur a virgin guy, then u could prolly demand that ur wife is equally in that sense(but why should you?it’s just a piece of membrane), but otherwise, "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone” nuff said.

Cold-blooded murderers!!

In reference to the article below.

My heart wept when I read the newspapers headlines. How can they be so cruel?I'm incensed/furious.Absolutely PISSED!

23dogs.10 escaped with the owner. You do the math.13 dogs were mercilessly SLAUGHTERED/ASSINATED/MURDERED/SLAYED/CULLED.Such brutality. It's atrocious.Farking SOBS!!

What do u mean that there is no other choice!? Is murdering them a logical n acceptable solution then?Must there be bloodshed? Are their lives any less precious than humans? How can you deem them less worthy?

You barge into civilian's houses, heavily armed n just shoot at every dog in sight.EVEN THOSE WITH LICENSE.so TRIGGER HAPPY eh?bastards. If it was an illegal immigrant or a human that was involved instead, the media/public would be screaming BLOODY MURDER!Off with their heads!

Imagine the poor fella n his sister. He managed to salvage 10 but his sis witnessed the massacre of 13 of their darlings.I had the unfortunate experience of witnessing my dog die n trust me,it was traumatising n heart breaking.I'm not ashamed to admit I cried buckets n I still miss my dog. Now,multiply the pain, anger, anguish at least 13 times!

The council had received a court order on Dec 20 last year to cull all 25 canines in the house. I wonder which honourable person did that?Noble deed indeed.

AND They ask people not to play god.Pierre Troubetzkoy:"Why should man expect his prayer for mercy to be heard by What is above him when he shows no mercy to what is under him? "

If there is a heaven, then all dogs go to heaven.I'm not sure if humans do, but definitely not this lot.

'Ever occur to you why some of us can be this much concerned with animals suffering? Because the government is not. Why not? Animals don't vote.' ~Paul Harvey

to the poor canines, RIP.I don't think it's likely until justice is done.

Owner of 25 dogs tries to save pets from death

By R.S.N. MURALI

SEREMBAN: In an attempt to save his 25 dogs from Seremban Municipal Council enforcement officers, a dog owner packed 10 of them into his car and tried to drive off.

While reversing his car, he allegedly hit the motorcycle of one of the officers who had gone to his terrace house in Taman Desa Rasah early yesterday to nab the animals.

Eng Her Sun, 66, said he was just trying to save his dogs when he drove out with the animals.

However, he was unable to save 13 of his other pets from the dog shooters.

“They (the dogs) are my best friends. Is it wrong for me to keep them in my own house? Now, I have lost all my happiness,” said Eng, who was near tears.

GETAWAY BID: Eng getting into his car with several of his dogs in an attempt to drive off with them from his home at Taman Desa Rasah in Seremban yesterday.
He claimed the officers had trespassed into his home and was contemplating legal action against them.

Council president Abdul Halim Abdul Latif, however, said his officers were acting on a court order. They were accompanied by four dog shooters from the state Veterinary Services Department and two police officers.

The situation, he added, became chaotic when the dog owner turned aggressive.

He said yesterday’s operation was carried out after the owner defied a six-month grace period given to him to move the animals to another area. The council had received a court order on Dec 20 last year to cull all 25 canines in the house.

Abdul Halim said the council had no choice but to act in view of the mounting complaints received from nearby residents on the disturbance caused by, and foul stench from, the canines.
